Master Gardener Training
Online training: High-speed Internet is recommended and Windows 10 or MAC 05 is the minimum operating system requiremnt for optimal video conferencing (Zoom). A digital camera and/or webcam will be needed to document at-home projects and for Zoom meetings and classroom.
In-Person Traning: It is helpful to have a home computer with high-speed internet but the lack of a computer will not prevent anyone from taking the training. Comptuers are available at the WSU Lewis County Extension office for trainees to use for online work and assistance is available for those with limited knowledge or experience with computers.
Registration Information: Application packets are available at the WSU Lewis County Extension office, Monday through Thursday between 9:00AM and 3:00PM. We are located at 17 SW Cascade Ave. in Chehalis.
Application packets can also be requested via email at jason.adams@lewiscountywa.gov or by phone at 360-740-1216.
The cost of the Master Gardener Training is $214.00 and that includes the following:
A background check, training materials and a preloaded flash drive, and access to WSU’s educational technology. Installment payments can be arranged upon request.
We offer year around enrollment, and the first training class will be Tuesday, January 18 and will continue on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. Class starts at 9:00AM and continues until 3:00PM.
Put the Child First Training
All WSU Master Gardeners must complete a 20-minute program on child abuse. Follow these instructions to view the program from your home computer. If you are unable to view it, you can make arrangements with the coordinator to view it at the Extension office.
